Lost and Found

She’s lost, surrounded by trees and the elements of nature.
She is enveloped by indistinguishable whispers and unrecognisable sounds.
The hairs on her neck rose, and her skin crawled.
She’s searching for something as if her life depended on it.
The darkness has descended on her, and the cold will soon follow.
Someone, please find me, she implored.
She begs no one for help. All she wanted was to hear her voice.
No one will come because she is nowhere to be found,
locked away in her own mind.
She wished the shadows, whispers, and darkness would go away.
No one can help her; she is gone and is never to be found.
She will be imprisoned in her own body forever.
Simultaneously, surrounded by many strangers and no one
Lost and never to be found.
The darkness will devour her soon.
The sorrow will be gone.
Lost and never to be found again.
